Celebrating Over 30 Years!
Riverboat Days is a community festival organized to showcase the history, culture, and beautiful natural setting of Terrace and the surrounding region.
The festival, now over thirty years old, was once only held on the August, BC Day long weekend. In 2004, the festival's program was extended to a full week. Prior to COVID-19 limiting public gatherings, the 2019 program offered nearly 50 events over 10 days.

The Riverboat Days program is wide-ranging, including sports events, music, theatre, historical tours, and visual art displays. Longstanding crowd-gatherers include the Legion Parade, Fireworks over Ferry Island, Beach Blast Volleyball, and Concerts in the Park. The concerts feature the best music from around the northwest and are held outdoors at Centre Stage, George Little Park.

There is a strong emphasis on affordable family entertainment. While every effort is made to gather people outside to enjoy the summer, the program is structured to contain an array of both outdoor and indoor activities and events.
Society history
The Terrace Riverboat Days Society was incorporated in 1992. Its main purpose is coordination and advertising of the Riverboat Days community festival.
The Society Board and extended committee of volunteers meet throughout the year endeavoring to improve the program of events, further raise the profile of Riverboat Days within the business and community and organizations, and address logistical matters such as emergency services, road closures, and security.
The principle source of funding for the Society is a grant from the City of Terrace and Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine.
Volunteers & Sponsors
The Riverboat Days Society welcomes new volunteers. It is a very rewarding experience, helping shape the Terrace area's signature community festival. The Society has often received awards, such as for its parade entries in the Prince Rupert Seafest and Kitimat Canada Day parades. In 2009 the Society was honoured to receive the Tourism Excellence award from the Terrace and District Chamber of Commerce.
Riverboat Days relies heavily on the volunteer work of service clubs and individuals. Equally, the business community through sponsoring, hosting and organizing events is a key partner in Riverboat Days.
The Riverboat Days Society THANKS all its sponsors and volunteers!

This page includes the Riverboat Exhibit Virtual Tour, a legacy from 2004 in which federal government financial assistance allowed Terrace to host an exhibit in a downtown retail building.
The Exhibit displayed pictures, artifacts and text telling the story of this adventurous period in pioneer history. The exhibition was originally constructed by the K'san Museum in Hazelton, BC and augmented by the Terrace Exhibit staff with local history.
